The prevention of stress, stiffness and muscle tension starts with a traditional Swedish massage.

The five basic strokes of traditional Swedish massage are: effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. This technique increases circulation and flushes metabolic waste from the body. It is the most common form of massage practiced in the United States.

Swedish massage does more than address soreness and stress – it also promotes a general sense of relaxation, balance and well-being.

Each session is unique to the client.

Once you and the massage therapist discuss your massage preferences, they will leave the room, allowing you to disrobe to your comfort level and relax on a heated massage table. The dim lighting, ambient music, and aromatherapy will help you ease into a more relaxed and peaceful state of mind. All Swedish Relaxation Massages will use oil of your choosing, and pressure is adjusted accordingly throughout the session.

Swedish Massage is beneficial during times of increased physical or emotional stress, or simply as part of your regular wellness routine.
